There's only one place to begin this week's email and that is with Jordan Spieth who finds himself £7.5 million pounds richer. He has had a truly remarkable season by anyone's standards, and capped it off in fantastic style by claiming victory in the Tour Championship to secure the FedEx Cup title. The Masters and US Open champion started the day one clear before going on to shoot a one-under-par 69 to win by four. Taking a look back at Spieth's year, victory in the Masters saw him climb to number two in the world, a position he held for around four months behind Rory McIlroy until a second placed finish in the PGA Championship saw him hit the top of the rankings. With this status came a new pressure on the 22-year-old Texan who struggled to live with these heights, missing two cuts in a row at The Barclays and Deutsche Bank Championship after which he fell to number three in the world. But his latest win, albeit in a field of just 28 players, with him knowing exactly what was at stake, is just as impressive as any other of his wins this year. It'll be interesting to see if he can cement his place as number one, or will Jason Day and Rory McIlroy continue to trade blows in the battle to be the world's best golfer?
Congratulations are in order for Gary Hague our 2015 summer singles champion Gary edged out Jim Mullen in the final, Gary has had a very good season and this is the cherry on the cake for him well done to everyone that took part.
THE SPANISH INVASION /Dads Army on tour
In 2008 a group of 8 from the seniors invaded Spain, this challenge was then taken up by 'Graydon's Greats' in 2012, and has been repeated ever since.
We are a group from the seniors, with an added guest, playing 3 different courses twice over 6 days. Our format of play is not revealed until we arrive in Spain, neither is the format for our 'Fed Ex Cup', Although Jordon Spieth won on Sunday, for our winner it was more a case of endurance both on and off the course!!
As all our players are modest it would be unkind for them to face the full blast of publicity that awaits, needless to say the off course activities were tremendous, inspired by our leader.
We have now all returned to our rest homes, with blankets and cocoa-ask us if we are going next year-just try and stop us!!
