Another mixed weather week of weather but a good one for the course, Daniel is my hero at the moment as it's been great receiving compliments about the course of late and he has only just got started.
I enjoyed the tour golf this week the Ladies golf is always worth a watch because there game is about technical perfection and timing against the power play of the men's game. Tiger woods love him or loathe him was back in parts last week to his brilliant best, take a look at this amazing shot Nick Faldo thought he would chop it out with the eight iron but Tiger pulled off this amazing 5 wood the power and control is just ridiculous skill.
Congratulations to John Cecil and Bill Gray winning our Seniors Section Pairs.
Sorry I have been a bit slow with the videos of late but Conrad is back off holiday now so I may just second to leave the shop or the range.
Who'd like to see more matchplay?
How refreshing it was to see some matchplay golf on the box this weekend. The Paul Lawrie event in Aberdeen may not have attracted the strongest field, but it was great to see this form of the game make a return to our screens.
Strokeplay golf can get a little tiresome and we're sure many of you relish a bit of matchplay now and again, especially if you're struggling in the medals. Matchplay requires an entirely different mind-set; you're required to react to your opponent's successes and failures. You may have seen players at the weekend miss the odd short putt or two and there can be a good few mind games going on.
It makes us think of that classic matchplay situation:
Concede short putts early in the round, and stop conceding them later on at a more critical juncture
Inconsistent putters may struggle with this and give you an important edge. So, if you've got a matchplay tie coming up, then make sure you put the time in on the putting green and don't be caught out by this old trick. If your putting isn't up to scratch why not get in touch to book a putting lesson? Well done to Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnat, who managed to hold his nerve, holing out from four feet for victory.
Sorry I have been a bit slow with the videos of late but Conrad is back off holiday now so I may just second to leave the shop or the range.
Kind Regards Miles
