East Horton played host to the very popular local golf society "the bunch of grapes" last week.
At least a dozen of our members play in their 60 strong golf society.
This was their big event with the winner receiving a Masters style green jacket.
I think they were expecting a burly man to win not a slinky woman as East Horton's Nicki Knight romped home to victory!
The Pro Shop Cup was played over the very testing weather last weekend.
Whilst the weather might have hampered the Seniors golf and the Admirals Cup down the road in Portsmouth, but it didn't affect David Stansfield's golf too much!
David's score of gross 72 nett 67 was good enough to see off James Cole on countback and Paul Lewis in third with nett 69.
The top 9 players all have prizes to collect.
I have embraced Eastleigh Council's park sports and Summer of Sport programs on a Tuesday.
I have four one hour groups of kids and adults and again on a Friday and Saturday, Golf may be struggling for new players but the whole five week program is oversubscribed so just maybe golf is on the up again?
