Well maybe not a vintage Masters in terms of drama but I am sure we have seen the beginning of a new world superstar.
The thing that struck me about Jordan Spieth was a feeling that he wasn't going to make a mistake. With Woods and McIlroy you have the feeling they have a destructive shot in them, Spieth didn't seem to have that, and in this world of monster hitters it shows how good he really must be.
For all of you that love your gear or are curious what these players actually use, this is what was in Jordan's winning bag;
Driver: Titleist 915D2 (9.5 degrees), shaft: Aldila Rogue 60TX
3 Wood: Titleist 915F (15 degrees), shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 7X
Hybrid: Titleist 915H.d (20.5 degrees), shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 95X
Irons: Titleist 714 AP2 (4-9), shafts: True Temper Project X 6.0
Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM5 (46-08 F, 52-08 F, 56-10 S and 60-04 L), shafts: True Temper Project X 6.0
Putter: Scotty Cameron 009 Prototype, grip: SuperStroke Flatso Ultra (Black/White)
Ball: Titleist Pro V1X
And the X at the end of the shaft detail means extra stiff for swing speeds of 110+mph!
Even though the greens are not where any of us want them to be, there are now signs for real improvement due to the treatments that have done. The irrigation is now in operation, earlier than planned as we have jumped into some lovely warm spring weather. Daniel thinks another 3 weeks or so and they will be nearly there.
We have an opportunity in the shop for some seasonal part time work that would suit students back for the summer, let me know if you know of a suitable candidate.
