With the clocks about to change to British summer time and The Masters beginning in a fortnight it signals golf time, spring really is here now!
We will very shortly move back on to the grass tees and the ride on buggies will be allowed back onto the course.
The first of the season's club fitting days is booked in with Cobra with us from 2pm-6pm on Tuesday 5th May, FREE range balls and fittings will be available.
I plan to start my videos as soon as the clocks change and I have a little more time but if you fancy a bit of early season tinkering I have a few tips for you to gain a few yards:
The angle of attack (AoA) is a very important factor in any shot. With an iron, it must be a descending blow something like -2 degrees down, however, with a driver it needs to be a positive figure.
Playing on the range the other day I experimented using my driver with the FlightScope - with the same club head speeds the results were staggering if I had a AoA of about -5 the yardage was about 210 yards but teeing the ball higher and getting a positive AoA the yardage went up by over 50 yards! I could write lots more but I will save it for a video.
In the mean time if you're curious that your irons go well but the driver is poor, the FlightScope and I could help. Speak to me in the pro shop or click here if you'd like to find out more.
