It's a shame such a sunny week was punctuated with such hard showers, but the weather did not hold back the greens staff.
The new Torro hollow core machine was in full flow for a few days deep coring the greens you - could tell the treatment was much needed as the cores had the sour smell too them, indicating the rotten matter that lay beneath the surface.
Murray is very buoyant though and is confident that this year the greens will be excellent, he also has had an interesting idea to rejuvenate the old temporary first green by removing the top layer with a turf cutter and using the cores to form a new putting surface of the green. This may give us a potential plan to reshape the hole as the existing green just can't seem to get enough light. It's just a potential plan at the moment, but an interesting one none the less.
