I managed to grab 10 mins with our very busy Head Greenkeeper on Monday, I'm more impressed by how he speaks every time! I am completely convinced he will elevate the course and its playing characteristics given just a little patience. Here' what he had to say:
"The main focus on the golf course is to raise the standards of turf management which will in turn enhance playing conditions. Every effort is being made to increase raking of the bunkers and place the sand where it needs to be.
When conditions dry to a suitable level, we will be working to a new maintenance plan that will include spraying of some turf maintenance products to all areas, Increasing presentation and plant health.
General tidiness is an important part of course presentation and you would have seen tee signage being taken in to be refurbished for the start of the season. Bins on ball washers have been raised off the ground so they look tidy.
Off the golf course in the maintenance facility the greenstaff have been working hard to get this facility well organised and Winter servicing of machinery is well underway, and will be ready for fast approaching growing season."
