Jim's Letter "I do hope you’re managing to keep healthy, happy and safe - during these most unprecedented times. As you’re very well aware, all facilites here at East Horton are closed and will remain that way until the authorities allow us to re-open. The governing bodies of the golf industry are lobbying our government to allow the current restrictions on golf to be lifted as soon as possible. Once life begins to return to normal, we’re confident that golf clubs will be amongst some of the first facilities allowed to re-open, perhaps subject to a few social distancing and hygeine obligations. You’ll be pleased to hear that we are currently maintaining, nurturing and refining the golf courses just as normal and with a little help from the recent fine weather, they’re looking fantastic. However, all of this hard work is eating into our limited funds which has been compounded by not being able to host any weddings or events. In an effort to generate cashflow so we can continue to trade, I have to write to you and kindly request that you renew your golf membership for the 2020/2021 year. We need your support more than ever right now! Membership rates are the same as the previous season. However, we are offering members who join by 1 May 2020 – 15 months for the price of 12. This 15 month term will begin once the first golf ball is struck following the enforced closure. If you currently pay your annual membership through Fairway Credit, we will assume that you wish to continue with this facility and will be automatically renewed. If you joined mid-season your payments for the new season will automatically be spread over 10 months. If however, you wish to cancel this scheme please inform the Club in writing (info@easthorton.com or post) no later than Friday 24 April. I attach a Membership Application form, full details on Fairway Credit and Membership Options. To make payment please see the ‘How to Pay’ form for all details. Your continued support at this moment in time would be appreciated more than ever and it will enable us to come out of this crisis in a position of strength. Yours sincerely, James Bastian"
