Welcome to this week's edition on East Horton Golf Club's weekly newsletter. So, challenging times ahead with this virus that's sweeping the globe, if there is one great trait about us Brits is when the going gets tough; we band together and fight, our Dunkirk spirit will get us through this crisis. The policy about the club bar and shop will have to remain fluid as this situation is going to be ever-changing as of today (Wednesday), we are open for golf food lessons and shop sales. The booking sheets look pretty empty as many of you are starting to hunker down, we think the courses hopefully will be a safe haven for old and young alike a place where you can get exercise and self-distance. You can still play with your mates just don't shake hands, pick your own ball out of the hole, and search for wayward balls on your own, personally I’d still get a drink afterwards just sit outside. But obviously, if you have any potential symptoms you must heed the advice of the experts and stay at home because the average age of golfers in the UK is 63. It’s possible that next week the advice may be different but that's another story. The club has put in hand sanitisers around the place to help but please stop stealing our toilet rolls! I can only hope this passes as quickly as it came because after the Winter I have had, this could seal or fate as a business! Enjoy the read.
