The tail of this hurricane did bring some rain and high winds but not as bad as the forecasters lead us to believe. The course, although damp, is still very playable with the team working hard and doing a fair bit of overtime.
The greens on the parkland have responded well to the core and reseeding, the Greenwood looks a couple of weeks behind that but we are confident of a complete recovery.
The agronomist from Rigby Taylor, who is a grass scientist for want of a better word, is delighted at the progress of the treatments he has implemented to eradicate the disease and weed issues we've recently encountered.
Senior's Presentation evening was a reflection of the successful season the seniors had enjoyed under Captain Keith Skilton during 2014. Those attending enjoyed good food, in well laid surroundings and a well organised event under the supervision of E Winter. Keith Skilton, in welcoming the guests, thanked them for their support and drew on his time as a time-served member of East Horton Golf Club to expand on how the section had grown.
He also remarked on how close a number of the trophy events were this year, a number going to extra holes for a decision. B Jackson Senior's Champion for 2014 responded on behalf of the trophy receivers with an entertaining history of the Senior's Championship. Hole in One news
A golf ball brought a smile to the face of Rod Ansell when he guided it from the tee into the hole of the 14th green on the Parkland during the Seniors Monday competition on 20th October for his first hole in one.
The second hole in one of the week was in the medal with Dean Charrett joining the elite group who make it to the board in the club house. And cleaned up on the twos sweep!
This weeks' video was a challenge as I did the first part of it in the shop but the second part from the course was made un audible by the tail of hurricane gonzarla!
But since it's putting it still makes sense.
