Anniversary Cup The first cup competition of the year was played last week with the Anniversary Cup. The course was in great condition but with one hiccup! Many of you found the greens very long and this was an unfortunate piece of timing as Dan had no choice but to spay a fungicide which meant he could not the greens down to the usual height. But you have to adapt as you play golf, you are at the mercy of the elements and nature. We did end up with four players in the 60s with the top 9 all have winnings. The top four were 4th - Paul Elkins 69, 3rd - Graham Threlfall 68, 2nd - St John Silvester 68, and the winner by two shots was Marian Kalnovic on 66. Congratulations to Marian and all who took part. This week it’s a Medal on the Parkland and as I understand it all greens will be brushed and double cut.
How Did I Do Titleist Order of Merit The message below is from Gary Hague who is coordinating his popular order of merit competition, it’s a simple registration process and you are in! The new season is now well underway and the How Did I Do Titleist Order of Merit is open for registration and with it, The FootJoy Club League. So far we have 12 people who have signed up so here is another reminder for all those who told me Saturday that they were signing up and haven't yet. Don't forget the competition runs from 1st April until September. It includes all medal competitions held on both courses played in between those dates. Don't worry if you think it’s too late as those scores will be included and it’s your best 5 scores that count. It was a very close competition last year with Danny France taking the silverware but he has competition this year in Marian Kalnovic who is already racking up some impressive points and the handicap is dropping rapidly! Reminders to join will be through Miles's weekly email and the East Horton FB page as usual and I will be bending your ears about it down by the first tee. I will post monthly updates through the clubs noticeboards and you have to be in it to win it!! Remember it is FREE to enter on the Howdidido website and It takes 2 minutes to sign up. They take care of all the scoring and points, so all you have to do is enter the medal comps at the club and the silverware could be yours!!
