Parkland Stableford By all accounts the weather this weekend was very nasty, my flight into Belfast was unpleasant to say the least. Because of the weather, the entries into the Parkland Stableford were low making in just one division. This didn't seem to affect the scoring which was excellent. Alan Tootle with his 7 handicap had 40pts in third place, second was Richard Ashman on 42pts, and the winner was Will Emeny with 43pts. Congratulations to you all!

Mothering Sunday It’s that time of the year when you really need to start thinking about mummy, and maybe treating her to a great meal at East Horton! It’s just round the corner on the 31st March so get organised now before you forget and your mother gets flowers from the petrol station. Click here for the menu.

Fight Night… I had a fantastic but unsuccessful trip to Belfast with one of my boxers. A lovely city with friendly people, well as long as you didn't stray too far. I knew our odds were about a 10% chance of a win and with all the dirty tricks of the weigh in and the iffy gloves, that was probably down to 5%. But no excuses, James Tennyson is at world level and we have never pretended to be. Click here for the highlights and the low lights. My next challenge is to try and get super feather weight David Birmingham and ex Portsmouth footballer to be the oldest winner of a Southern area championship at aged 37! Tennyson was near on impossible, this is winnable. I have also caught the eye of the BBC and iPlayer users can watch our feature here, just skip to 20.45. |

More and more golfers are placing their trust in GPS equipment to help them on the course, providing key yardages to hazards and greens on every hole. If you’re yet to take advantage of this technology then you really are missing out, so here are a couple of our favourite products for you to cast an eye over... |
| Garmin Approach S10 Watch | This is the perfect accessory to help you get your exact yardage to the green with nothing more than a glance at your wrist. Sleek, lightweight and comfortable, the S10 GPS watch provides yardages to the front, back and middle of the green on over 41,000 courses worldwide, on top of hazards and doglegs, giving you all the key information you need to play better golf. |
| Garmin Approach G80 Device | Now this is something special. The Approach G80 is a handheld GPS device that gives you colour maps of every hole as well as key distances to greens and hazards. In addition, its integrated Launch Monitor not only tracks key data such as clubhead speed and estimated distance, but it comes with four game modes to enhance your practice time at the range. |
