Pro Shop Cup The Pro Shop Cup was a tight affair with the weather keeping the scoring in check. The top three were Tom Hatt on nett 70, second was Nigel Shephard on nett 69 and the winner with an excellent gross 76 giving a winning nett 68 was Jeff Baker. Congratulations to you all.
Slow play At least once a year I add a paragraph about slow play, it’s an age old golfing problem but one that pops up here again this week, so I would like to share with you my take on it. Firstly single players, the age old thought that you have no standing out on the course is nonsense! Just let them through or ask if they would like to join you if you are not a 4 ball, don’t be pressured from a single behind you as they will be gone in a flash. If you have lost a clear hole to the group in front, you must let the group behind through. Take it on the chin, your slower than the group in front and the group behind can fill that gap. Other little things that can help are leaving your bags to the side of the green nearest the next tee, and remember you are not playing for your supper, you are playing to enjoy it so take your time over your shot and get a wriggle on between them. PS divots and pitch marks next!
