Hello golfer,

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly newsletter. A bit of a gloomy start to September but nothing really to stop us playing. In this week's email, we remind you of our upcoming demo day, our video of the week is something that you have probably never seen before, whilst we also shed some light on to what has us more excited than usual this week. Enjoy the read.

Pro's news

The course

We are all aware with the issues with the rough on the Greenwood and all I can tell you is that a new lad started on Monday and the staff are on it but this rain has made cutting thick wet lush grass a challenge, but one we are all aware that it needs to be tackled.


Speed golf

Leyon and I have a little over a week before the Speed Golf championships at Piltdown golf club in East Sussex. I am not sure if we really know what we have let ourselves in for but, we have had a few early morning runs and a practice round booked in for the end of the week and we are both determined to give it our best!

Competitions

There is a change to the fixture list and the next two competitions this week is now a Greenwood competition and the 15th-18th is now on the Parkland.

Sunday is the last day for entries for the mixed open which is played on the 17th of September, there is prizes and a 2 course meal after the round.


Callaway demo day – This Saturday!

We have a demo day this Saturday with Callaway from 11.00am-3.00pm. There will be special prices and fitting slots if you would like a free custom fitting with Callaway's expert.

Waving someone through
DO THE RIGHT THING

If you find yourself holding up the group behind then we always advise that you invite them to play through with a quick wave, like in this photo. If you don’t it can not only delay that group, but it’s likely to hold up the groups behind them too.

MYTH BUSTER

It’s a common myth that single players have no standing on the course. The truth is that they must be treated the same as any two-ball, three-ball or four-ball when it comes to pace of play etiquette and waving them through.
