Well it's only 13 degrees out there today and the course surly has to be the best it has ever been in February.
Scoring again this week was very good. In Div 1 Jamie Callahan, John Brooks and my protégé the elegant smooth swinging Bob Hudson all tied on 41 points with Bob's back nine taking first spot.
Div Two was a similar story with Trevor Pell Justin Gibbons and again doing it on the back nine was Ben Lee all with 40 pts.
Div Three was won by on form Dougie Berrrill with 40 pts.
Next week's competition is another Stableford on the Greenwood.
Now you may have noticed on the booking sheet that the Greenwood is closed for 5 days for course maintenance starting 27th of March.
This is absolutely crucial work and the reason the greens are so good right now. For me it's the mark of a good Greenkeeper the does this invasive coring now when the greens are so good, just trust me and Daniel more and the greens will be better again!
And for that week the Parkland will be unaffected.
New in this week a fantastic FootJoy clothing range, all non-iron , moisture wicking and made using colour fast threads in the shirts, making the colours in the shirts stay the same no matter how many times they are washed.
Don't forget our TaylorMade fitting day on the 6th of April 11am to 4pm and you can book a free fitting slot with Tackman thrown in too!
Are golfers fore-going safety?
It's time for a rant. From our very first adventures onto a golf course we're encouraged, not demanded, to scream 'fore' if our ball is going off line. We've all had to do it, both for ourselves and playing partners, when we see a miss-hit flying towards another golfer on the course who we're frantically hoping would just move out of the way.
So why is it that when the tour pros skew one left or right, where hundreds of spectators are lined up along the edge of the rough, do they not see the importance of shouting 'fore'? Take Pat Perez for example. On Sunday he saw a stray tee shot clatter into the head of a spectator on the 12th, before firing another loose drive into the leg of another spectator on the 15th. And guess what - no shout of 'fore' on either occasion.
Perez isn't in the minority either, it happens far too often. Shane Lowry's tweet (seen above) hits the nail on the head. Let's hope more players follow his mindset.

Aiming for a younger demographic The European Tour have introduced some innovative ideas for the season ahead. The World Super 6 combined 54 holes of stroke play with a final-day knockout, whilst GolfSixes, which takes place later in the year, sees two-man teams battle it out over six holes in a group stage, before progressing to a final-day knockout.
