Even though we had some very testing weather last week the competition scoring told a different story with the CSS going down to 69.
In Division One Chris Edmonds, Garry Hague and Graham Fox all scored in the 40s and in Division Two the top three of Paul Stoddart, David Farnell and Dave Macdonald also scored in the 40s… show that those greens are still rolling well.
As we move toward the golfing season my spotlight is going to be on coaching, we have the Hampshire Girls taster sessions back at East Horton, so if you have a young lady potential golfer you know that is interested in taking up the game, point her in my direction and I will find her a space.
On a similar theme there are beginner's group lessons that are partly funded by the local council and 6 one hour sessions cost £30.
And for all you established players all my one hour sessions will include Flightscope ball and club tracking data, along with video analysis. The flightscope is a fantastic analytical tool it sees what the human eye cannot, you will be amazed!
If you are interested in any of these coaching offers, please click here and let me know which one you would like to sign up for.
We didn't see that one coming
The hype surrounding last week's PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines was far bigger than usual, mainly due to Tiger's return to a familiar hunting ground where he has dominated in the past. He was grouped with Jason Day and Dustin Johnson for the opening rounds so to say this was a marquee group would be an understatement.
It is often said that playing alongside someone who is playing well can benefit your game and vice versa, and this was certainly the case last week as all three golfers missed the cut after 36 holes. Leading the way going into the weekend was Englishman Justin Rose, only to succumb to Spain's Jon Rahm who secured his maiden PGA Tour title by nailing a 60 foot putt for eagle on the final green. Talk about keeping your nerve under pressure.
We'll be on Tiger watch over the next few weeks so keep checking our newsletters to find out how he got on. In the meantime, make sure you dust off your clubs and take to the course. When you do, pop your head in the shop and take a look at all of the new stock that has started to arrive.
