Another good week at the club apart from the worst fog I have ever seen here on Monday, I couldn't believe the amount of seniors that played after their AGM… even more surprising were the amount that thought a competition card was a good idea.

We all wish Dave Lyons the new Seniors Captain the best of luck in his year at the helm, he is the ideal man for the job full of enthusiasm and no nonsense practicality.




Some sad news now with two of the regular old boys off to golfing heaven John Dollins funeral was this Monday and very sadly we lost Ted Baker an absolute legend of a man, table tennis champion and magician and a face we had seen every week for as long as I can remember. 

He was ill for years but it never stopped him playing or betting or showing me his magic tricks, both boys will be missed and remembered.




Good scores still coming in with last week's divisional winners Rob Cox, Kevin Palmer and Dougie Berril all banging in good scores. This week is a stableford on the Greenwood Course. 




New in this week the 2017 Cobra range and Titleist wedges and bags. 

This is exciting...

There's been quite a buzz in the pro shop recently because, believe it or not, January is one of our favourite times of the year.

It's at this time of year when we get to see some exciting new product which, in the main, arrive in store in February and March. Who doesn't get a buzz when they see shiny new irons or drivers full of technology? It's not just hardware though, as we also get to see the line-up of footwear and apparel for the year ahead, as well as a sneak preview of any new balls to hit the market.
