The first major competition of the year was the Anniversary Cup played in US open style conditions! Not out of choice mind you. Poor
Matt was pulling his hair out in the week as the rain poured down and his ability to cut the rough was severely hampered .
This explained the high scoring of everybody apart from the winner, and I can imagine a very straight hitter in the conditions, was Ian Pearce with a nett score of 67. Second was Keith Snelling with 71 and, I'm not taking the credit at all but, after one session on the FlightScope Rob Cox was on top form in third with a gross 76 nett 71. The top 9 all have prizes to collect.
I'm am sorry that some of you who had to be refused entry to the competition because you had not renewed your membership, but it's the rules of entry that you must be a current member on entering a competition.
And as of this Friday all unrenewed members will be required to pay the appropriate green fee.
Just a reminder for the Summer Singles and Summer Pairs, the closing date for entry is the 19th of May.
It may be that time of year that you may need your set re gripped, we have a full range of grips with our gripped starting at £3.95 fitted.
