The last cup competition of the year was played with some mixed weather - Sunday morning competitors playing in very miserable conditions but the other three days were really nice spring conditions. The top nine players in the
Easter Cup all win prizes but the top three were in third place
James McCabe,
68, second was
Sam Adamson,
67, and the winner was
Ashley Moore with a very low
63. Congratulations to all who played.
We have been in a bit of a dilemma regarding next year's cup fixtures. The bulk of the cup competitions were drawn events, this was done to ensure that the correct rules of golf were enforced not 'mates rules' and also to give players the chance to play with other people. The down side is the entries can be low compared to the alternative. To find out which method is better for the club, I would like your feedback. Message me with syour preference of drawn or not drawn and we will go with the majority? Click here to let me know your thoughts.
The new fixture list will be attached to the main East Horton website before the start of May. You can find the website by clicking here
The course is looking really healthy with Sunday's rain helping to wash in the top dressing and fertiliser. The bluebells around the woodland look great and add a real splash of colour around the first and eighteenth.
I would like to ask another favour of you all to help me police the driving range. I'm still having problems with people going out onto the range by the first and belting balls everywhere before they tee off. On Saturday night I even saw a member with his own balls hitting full shots from the range onto the putting green! As we can't see the range from the shop I'd like you to have a friendly word with the people misusing the range.
Now stock in this week with the incredibly small Motocaddy M1 Lite Push Cart. It folds and collapses down to a very compact size so it would fit into the smallest boot and it looks very well engineered.
We also still have the Cleveland wedge trade in going on with £25 off a new wedge for any old wedge and I do mean an old Dunlop from the tip!
Another good week with the FlightScope with some of the club's better players trying it out, even ex Club Champion Rob Cox having his first every golf lesson! No major swing changes to make just little tweaks, showing where his best and worst shots come from.
